Così è nata I'MPASTA.
Good Vibes, Great Food.
OUR STORY
From Positano (Italy) and Barcelona (Spain) to Lucerne: two different ways of enjoying the good life, brought together by a shared love of pasta.
Manuel grew up in Positano, on the Amalfi Coast, where pasta is much more than just food: it means memories, family, and long Sundays spent together around the table. Mercè grew up in Barcelona, between the Mediterranean and a desire to create things with her own hands and share them with the world.
We met in Zermatt while we were both working there during the winter season. We loved Switzerland so much that, over time, one thing became clear: we wanted to come back. We chose Lucerne. For a year and a half, we each followed our own careers, until the opportunity came to bring I’MPASTA to life. We didn’t have to think twice.
From day one, we knew we wanted to create something authentic. No ready-made sauces, no industrially produced pasta: fresh dough, made in-house every day, with the same respect for ingredients that Manuel learned in Italy.
He takes care of the production: turning durum wheat semolina and eggs into tagliatelle, ravioli… He prepares every one of our sauces from scratch, as well as our desserts, from tiramisù to cheesecake. Everything we sell is made by us, from start to finish.
Mercè is the face of I’MPASTA: she is in direct contact with our guests while also taking care of everything that happens behind the scenes – marketing, videos and communication. Making sure every detail has a purpose, from the colour on the walls to the latest guest review.
That’s how I’MPASTA was born. The name plays on a double meaning: I’m pasta / impasta – a little wordplay that describes who we are pretty well. We’re not a traditional restaurant, and we don’t try to be something we’re not. We’re two people who decided to bring fresh pasta to Lucerne, made the way it is in Italy: from grain to plate, with no shortcuts.
Good Vibes, Great Food.
That’s the idea behind it: great food alone isn’t enough – the atmosphere has to feel right too. That’s why at I’MPASTA you’ll find the warmth of a true Italian kitchen, combined with an open, welcoming Mediterranean spirit that brings us both together – no matter where we come from.
